Lilith is inspired from the pagan bird goddess - wise, without a partner, protector of children. Later, Jewish tradition has Lilith as Adam's first wife. She refused to lie beneath him and flew away. Lilith then became a demon with insatiable sex drive and one who took children. Lilith's changing narrative is striking and befitting a doormat.
